Bug when scanning ZoneAlarm directory
« on: May 15, 2009, 09:32:14 PM »
I use avast! version 4.7 Edition familiale (the french translation for home edition) and this one for ZoneAlarm: Version de ZoneAlarm : 7.0.362.000, Version de TrueVector : 7.0.362.000, Version du pilote : 7.0.362.000. Both are running under win xp home edition.
My problem is simple when I scan the hard drive searching for viruses, the scan bug on the directory of ZA. The window shows that is scanning the directory but never go to the next directory.
There are no message, I can stop the scan but my hard drive is never totally scan.

Sorry for my english speaking. I hope that I didn't miss an answer in the forum

If you use ZA firewall and avast you should exclude the scanning of the tracking.log which we believe is the cause of the avast hanging up.

For the Standard Shield provider (on-access scanning):
Left click the 'a' blue icon, click on the provider icon at left and then Customize.
Go to Advanced tab and click on Add button. Write there:
?:\System Volume Information\tracking.log

For the other providers (on-demand scanning such as the screen-saver or the Simple User Interface):
Right click the 'a' blue icon, click Program Settings.
Go to Exclusions tab and click on Add button. Write there:
?:\System Volume Information\tracking.log

The System Volume Information folder belongs to Windows System Restore.
