RPC Problem
« on: March 27, 2004, 12:24:52 AM »
Hello,
On Access Protection Control will not start. Error message is
The AAVM subsystem detected an RPC error
I am running a (brand new ) Home XP system
I followed the FAQ advice re this problem. The FAQ said I should see Avast in Services and RPC. RPC is there, starting is automatic, and it seems fine. Avast is not listed in Services. I have applied all Windows XP udpates

Thanks for any help

Avast is not listed in Services.

So, avast is not installed or, at least, not properly installed.
You can uninstall, boot, install again, boot... to see if a second installation works.

But, do you have another antivirus installed in this computer? Have you already installed one (which?) in it? Maybe you have a conflict...

Can you start manually the avast! service (C:\ ... \Avast4\ashServ.exe)?
