Avast won't start
« on: May 17, 2008, 05:23:54 PM »
I'm using Avast Home Edition 4.8 in Windows XP SP3. I think it works for the most part, it initiate at start up, will scan archives, etc, but when I run ashAvast.exe nothing shows up, no errors, nothing. ashAvast.exe shows in the task manager, but nothing else. I tried the repair option but is still the same problem. Do I reinstall the program?

Thank you

Edit:

Ok I don't know what the hell, I just actualized avast and put my register number in and works. If some moderator could delete this.

There was another topic about this very recently, and that had an item on the Taskbar for it but it wasn't opening.

If that is also the case for you - The resolution for that one I believe was to right on the item and select Move and using the arrows expand the size so you can use it and drag it into the center of the screen.
