Cybercriminals in cahoots with Zango spyware spreader?
« on: May 17, 2008, 08:26:48 PM »
Hi malware fighters,

Cybercriminals could be in cahoots with the spreaders of the Zango spyware spreader. The cybercriminals could be the same people behind the Storm worm botnet. In the malware researchers found AdPack Kit with the name zango.php.
If Zango is indeed involved in these schemes, it would mean they are complete idiots for they could be in deep trouble while they will have to respond to the Federal Trade Commission. see:

I believe it is, I downloaded it - It's a game type thing right? And it was annoying - So I went to uninstall and every time I tried too! Virus! Virus Found! It wouldn't let me get to uninstalling it without a virus massage appearing.

Hi malware fighters,

An update to the news:
Update — 17 May 2008 23:34 PDT: After further review it appears the ‘AdPack’
exploit toolkit and the Storm authors are specifically targeting systems with
Zango-related software installed.

yep ad-ware / spy-ware is becoming quite popular target for rootkit botnets :) tons of unrevealed vulnerabilities and potencial 0day magic :)
