I can`t turn on the On-Access protection

 Hi, sorry to bother you.. But today I decided to change my antivirus program with avast. So, ok, I downloaded it from the official site (the latest home edition), went with the typical installation. Did a scan (just to be sure) - everything ok. But when I click on the "Start on-access protection", nothing happens. I tried the On-access protection control, and when I click "start".. Nothing happens at all. Any suggestions?
P.S. I rebooted, repaired it. Nothing changes.

What was your another AV installed in this system and how did you get rid of it ?

Some AVs are pigs to remove and interfere with other security applications even after they are meant to be gone.

What avast processes are running in Task Manager, they begin with ash or asw, see image ?

Nevermind, it just suddenly.. Started working  I didn`t do anything, and it started I hope it will continue, anyway thanks for the response.

I haven't heard of many issues with uninstalling avira, Norton however, is a different ball game.

After you use Add/Remove, you should use Avira Antivir RegistryCleaner as well as the appropiate "Uninstallation Package", both of which can be found at: http://www.avira.com/en/support/support_downloads.html
