mail icon pops up when I turn on Macbook

The mail icon pops up when I start my Macbook.  I close it afterwards.  This never happened before I downloaded Avast!.  Why does it do that?  What should I do?

This is already been reported. The next release of Avast will not auto launch the Mail application.
