How do I remove Antivirus 2008?
« on: June 01, 2008, 06:01:23 AM »
I contacted a rogue antivirus by the name of "Antivirus 2008" today.  I did a full scan using my Avast AV and still that didn't destroy this fake antivirus (Antivirus 2008).  Is there some other way to destroy it with Avast or should I use another antivirus or spyware remover?

Hi Hal2003,

Try a boot time scan with avast! Right click the scanner screen, select 'schedule a boot time scan' and reboot when requested.

Try the usual free adware/spyware scanners.

Nothing worked besides a spyware detection and removal program called Spy Hunter 3.  I'm happy that worked but sad it cost me $30 and even more depressed my Avast AV allowed this effing thing to invade my computer to begin with  >:(

RogueRemover is a utility that can remove various rogue antispyware, antivirus and hard drive cleaning utilities. Rogue applications are applications that rather than remove spyware, provide false positives, distribute malware or spyware, advertise, or provide useless uninstallers. The main point is that rogue applications are useless and eat up system resources.
