Getting rid of.. Win32:Pakes-AVF [Trj]
« on: June 11, 2008, 05:11:52 AM »
Theres a trojan on my computer that won't go away when I attempt to delete it, manually remove it, or move it to the chest =/

I was wondering if theres anything I can do to get rid of this, it shows little "bugs" eating away at the computer screen when i keep it idle for 1 minute.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! =]

Hi le nikki,

Try a boot time scan with avast! Right click the scanner screen, select 'schedule a boot time scan' and reboot when requested.

Try the usual free adware/spyware scanners.

Ad-Aware Free
Spybot Search & Destroy
SUPERAntiSpyware Free

Download, install and update the programs. Disconnect from the internet (pull the plug) before running scans in Safe Mode if possible.

Always select the option to quarantine any malware found rather than delete it, then you will be able to restore files or registry entries wrongly identified as malware- a rare but not unknown event for any malware scanner.

If still having problems, post a HijackThis! log.

Have you tried some other scanners? such as SUPERantispyware? if not then you can always try a boot time scan with avast to do so right click on the interface and choose "schedual boot time scan"
