How do I go about registering for a free activation key by e-mail? Avast notified me that the key has expired, and I need a new valid License key #.

Hi and welcome, Voula.

You can register here -- and that can be done any time before (or, hopefully, even after) current registration expires.  Same place as for a first-time registration, by the way.
