Lastest Vista update - Now I have errors in Outlook

Ever since the last update of Vista, I get errors in Outlook.  I am using Avast 4.8.1201 on my Vista Home Premium machine.

I get the following two errors every time I click on an email:
"Unable to connect to Avast Engine
Avast Mail cannot be started"

After I click OK, I get the following:
"The addi-in C:\Program Files....ashOutXt.dll could not be installed or loaded.  This program may be resolved by using Detect and Repair on the help menu"

Detect and repair doesn't help.

Any suggestions?

Check out this Topic it is about a pre-release build that is meant to address this problem, http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=36639.0. Read it all as by all accounts there is a side effect related to the beta build, before you consider if you should try it.

Did you use any other antivirus before avast? AVG?
How did you uninstall it?
