What does this error message mean?

For the past couple of months everytime I seem to do a manual update I get an error message after the download

Seems that you're not using the latest avast version...
Check your 'About' dialog (right clicking the 'a' blue icon).

I've just tried a program update but nothing new downloaded, here is the version of Avast that I'm using
4.8.1201

Strange... that were old messages...
I suggest an installation from the scratch:

1. Uninstall avast from Control Panel first.
2. Boot.
3. Download the latest version of Avast Uninstall and use it for complete uninstallation.
4. Boot.
5. Install again the latest avast! version.
6. Boot.
7. Check and post the results.

It looks as though the errors started in May

I've uninstalled avast as advised in safe mode and downloaded and installed the new version from the website but I'm still getting the same error messages when I do a manual update of the program or iAVS
