yes i'm having a problem with: the way my screen constantly shows... a scrolling "avast! On-Access Scanner Message" message. How can I hide it? Also I would like to know; after scanning your files & folders, C:Drive, and D: & E: Drives how do i know if i can safely delete all the files shown? I tried to repair them... but it would not repair, states that an error has occured; i tried to put them in the chest but an error occurs. I don't want to delete an important Operating System file
I answer you here:
http://forum.avast.com/index.php?board=2;action=display;threadid=3693;start=0#lastPostAfter scanning, you must take some care to delete or move to Chest.
On the Report settings, check the items that should be written to the report. Task start writes date and time of the task start to the report; similarly, task stop writes date and time of task stop. The description of the remaining items hard errors, soft errors, skipped files, infected files, and OK files is on the results page:
Infected files. Information about the files containing virus code.
Files with hard errors. If a serious, unexpected error occurs during the scanning of the file (e.g. the diskette containing the file to be checked is unreadable), the filename will be displayed.
Files with soft errors. The files that were impossible to check will be displayed. It is usually because of sharing violation (some system files) or because the access to the files was denied (e.g. the current user does not have access to the folder they reside in).
Files not tested by the scanner. The skipped files (e.g. because of their size) will be displayed. (If the file is too small to contain any virus code, it will be skipped).
OK files. Any files correctly tested (and found uninfected) will be displayed.
Generally speaking, only the first ones need to be repaired/cleaned/deleted...
Hope this help.
