Streaming Audio
« on: April 04, 2004, 09:25:27 PM »
I like to listen to some radio programs on my pc via Windows Media Player.  Before I installed Avast I didn't have a problem in keeping the buffer filled and as a result a nice continous stream of radio all day long.
After Avast installation, it seems it goes the max of the buffer (60 seconds) and then tries to refill the buffer.  So I get herky-jerky streaming.
Is Avast checking the stream and therefore slowing the audio download?  If so where do I stop this and/or change it?
Thanks,
Vaughn

Hello vaughnh, avast doesnt scan/slow down your network traffic; resident shield handles only file operations and it has nothing common with it - cause of the problem will be somewhere else.

Btw, you can check the avast! blue icon during the streaming... if it doesn't rotate, it's not scanning anything. If it rotates, you can open the resident protection window and check the "last scanned" item to see what was scanned.
