« on: July 14, 2008, 08:11:17 PM »
Got it in a spam email but i am unseure as to weither it is actually a virus or not. Yahoo couldn't find a virus in it, Avast couldn't find one in it. Just wondering if anyone else knows or is this a new one?

Lets put it this way I wouldn't even waste time checking, delete all Spam, especially one like this when you obviously haven't used UPS to warrant an invoice.

It is almost certainly a phishing exercise of sorts (not uncommon, the only difference being the trickery used), designed I believe to get a response, that response (irate) would possibly lead you to click a link in the email to complain and that could really get you in trouble.

At best it confirms your email address is live and you get much more spam. At worst you could get infected by visiting any link on the email. Never open attachments or click links in unsolicited emails.

Yeha i usually always delete my spam without looking but i've recently been getting propper important mail being filtered through to the spam, also i'm naturally a bit curious, but then again that killed the cat right? It is a virus though, got it again but its been detected now.

Check the avast! Log Viewer (right click the avast 'a' icon), Warning section, this contains information on all avast detections.
