todays update

cause this web site to not load in Opera 9.51 today. Only cure I had was to Uninstalled the present update a revert to an older copy 4.7.1098. Hope this will work until the new update is install again later

Now that Avast has created this major problem with Opera, is there a quick fix plan the repair their update. Does anyone have a clue as to what is being done? I'm all the way back to 4.7.1098

Did you update the avast Program?

Right click avast tray icon>Updating>Program Update

Your question is already answered as below by Vlk, an Avast! team member in the thread.
We were able to simulate the problem, and it really looks like a subtle bug in the 4.8.1227 WebShield. :-\

We're currently discussing the possibilities of fixing the issue.

I did and that's when all hell broke loose.
