My suggestion is Gigaget.
After 2 years of constant use, it's still my favorite.

I tried gigaget and whenever I download anything with gigaget from filehippo.com it abandons the connection with filehippo and downloads from other sites are the sites from which it is downloading safe

I've used this download manager for over 2 years without any problems and I do a lot of downloading.
