Do you have more than one partition?
If so, with Returnil you can protect the operational system one and let the programs be updated and installed in a second one. When you upgrade programs (due to windows registry) you'll need to temporary disable the protection.

Once you get used to the routine of when and for how many boots to disable the protection,
It gets fairly easy. Considering that this assures you of always having a clean system in a usually
unsafe environment, it's worth the little extra effort.  :)

Well with Sandboxie & Returnil my PC will be "bullet proof" so to speak! ::)

I have to disagree with you.  A backed up infected system is not bullet proof. It's already been killed.  ;D
The only way to make sure your system stays clean is to make sure it can't get infected in the first place.  :)

You're not disagreeing with me. You're right. Of course I'm talking about clean backups and more than once...

As we do not live in a perfect software world... you'll get infected and then... oh, boy, use your loved backups ;)
