Analysis of a very effective bot: Coreflood Trojan...
« on: August 07, 2008, 10:48:03 PM »
Hi malware fighters,

This malware bot has been active since 2004 and according to some it is archaic, but despite it is old researchers this year found a new variant that had stolen the login data of more than 35.000 domains.  This totalled up to some 463.582 usernames & passwords, with some 8.485 logins for 29 banks, 151.000 e-mailaccounts, 3233 creditcard data, 416 accounts for online stock and just under 60.000 logins for social network sites. The botnet stole 1 GB of data every day, and the gang were especially interested for whom the computer was registered, and the name of the firm, so they knew who they were hacking.

Damien,
This is ancient. If any one gets infected by this, they probably deserve it for never having updated any
of their software.  ;D
