Annoyed newbie - On Access Scanner
« on: August 11, 2008, 01:32:32 AM »
I've been poking around looking for a way to turn off the pop-up notifications on my taskbar for the On-Access scanner (except, maybe, in cases where something is actually wrong.) There are simply too many of these notifications popping up every few seconds and its slowing down the rest of my graphics.

Any sage advice?

It would appear you have been tweaking avast without knowing the effect it will have. Standard Shield - 'Show detailed info on performed actions' this option is off by default. This function is also on the Web Shield and Internet Mail providers so you should also check those.

Thanks very much. I'm used to AVs where "detailed" means "tell me when there's something very, very wrong." I like information but I just don't need that much.

Thanks again.
