Which the Best Firewall> PC Tools Firewall Ver: 4.0.0.45 or Webroot Ver: 5.8?

Hi Guys, just want to know about this two free personal firewall...PC Tools Firewall Plus New Version 4.0.0.45 and Webroot Desktop Firewall New Version 5.8! .... please help me to chose one?

used both of them and i prefer pctools(which i am currently using now) over the webroot one......better interface and security

Note PC Tools just bought out by Symantec spit.

Watch this space for future developments in PC Tools products. Although Symantec spit say they will remain independent we will have to see.

Unfortunately there isn't anything we can do about this so, there isn't really anything to worry about.  
I also use PCTools Firewall Plus.

I know which is why the comment watch this space and see what the developments are, it won't effect me as I won't use any Symantec products. I don't use PC Tools firewall but I have recommended it on a number of occasions.

Just letting those who might be interested in PC Tools products of the buy out.

Me either. I'd rather trust McAfee Personal Firewall than Symantec or Norton.
I have McAfee Personal Firewall running with my Avast! antivirus, they make perfect companions:)

Symantec owns the Norton name it's the same company.
Hopefully this doesn't turn into one of those fan boy posts of who likes or dislikes what.
If it works and your satisfied with it use it. If it doesn't work for you, find something else.
That goes for any program or operating system.

Not going on about big corps for ye here, but there are some that buy up or out (whatever you like to call it) firms with innovative software and then find a sure way to ruin it down the line. Why they always find a way to drive it downhill from the original workings is hard to say, but that is what it is. Just an example -remember what McAfee did to the SiteAdvisor tool, and some forum members here can come up with another dozen examples of good software that the Molochs mangled after they took it aboard. Money talks over brains apparently, well it is a way to get a brain park and loads of money &  give some users a head-ache,

Only if it gets changed and becomes a system hog like their own AV program.
If it remains the same, who cares who owns it. It's performance that counts not the label it wears.

Let's not forget that Symantec has a habit of buying products and then giving them their final exit from this world. 

Symantec will not .. now or ever ... give anyone a free product for more than a year or two.  It is a get 'em hooked and then charge them for a yearly update outfit and it will always be.

We all know what happens when a bigger company buys a smaller company. Whatever the product of a smaller company happens to be will become crap or will become too expensive. Big companies do not spend their money buying a smaller company just to give away the products for free. The big companies do not need to build a user base nor notoriety by giving away free products. They must recover the money spent to buy the smaller company. They buy smaller companies because they see a way to make more money than is spent buying the smaller company. It's simple economics.
