Hi xblazingpig and Rafel,

You won't get an answer from me. But one thing I can tell you we at avast have the better forum.
No I should say we have the best forum. So even if you decide to stay with AVG 8 come to join our forum to get an unbiased opinion, and comment both resident av-solutions, welcome to the forums,

P.S. Tech, I think Rafel forgot to use the past tense: "used"....

Cybersecurity is more of an attitude than anything else. Avast Evangelists.

Use NoScript, a limited user account and a virtual machine and be safe(r)!

I like the simple interface of AVAST, without skin. First time I saw it since 10 years today. It looks like terrific, a real AV!!!  ;D

Welcome to the forums and the avast family.

There are many more skins to choose from, certainly for the time being until version 5.0 when skins will no longer be available (third party skinning tool no longer available). Just right click in the middle of the 'music player' ;D and click select skin, then the Get more skins link.

well avg never was better than avast..as i remember avast always has better results than avg in www.av-comparatives.org (now avg has a bit better results but its avg antimalware)...well an AV isnt good only for its detection..but for its features and its ease of use(avast is the god of freeware AV for these)..no need to mention about the support that avast has...im a nod32 user now(well maybe until the license key expires)so my opinion may be totally objective on that topic...if i was changing now i would install avast and now you know why..  8)

I actually think that a combination of both combined with Norton Antivirus and McAfee Antivurus would be best.
Since using all of these together will most likely prevent you from getting on the internet at all,
your most likely going to avoid getting any viruses or malware.   ;D ;D ;D

I'd consider this a loaded and unfair question especially since your asking this on
the avast! forum.
I certainly also recommend avast! but highly doubt that you can get a totally unbiased answer here.
If you where to ask this same loaded question at the AVG forum, I'm sure your answer you'd reflect
a biased toward their product.
There's nothing wrong with the question you asked but you'll never get a totally accurate answer here.  :)

i thing you are right he shouldn't ask that question here its like going to a Chevy dealership and asking about a ford car.

i had norton 360 two years ago and i got a Trojan that crashed my PC lock it up allmost and the 360 never found it. i use roadrunner internet service and i called them and they help me load CA antivirus on my computer and it found the Trojan and delete it and got my system going again. norton 360 has a lot of good features but if it can't detect Trojans and viruses so what good is it to you.  ;D
