can avast 4.8 pro run or scan while you surf the INTERNET ?  ???

do you mean you perform a manual scan of your hard discs or something like that? - i would say thats no problem!

shouldn't harm anything...  ;)

Yes, it works just fine, I do that often (scanning and surfing at the same time)
