I have the startdeck log, but it's huge! So I'm off to divide the log and attach them

still not sure about what to do with the silent runner program. or the fact that I can only access the Administrator account while in safe mode.

but I am glad that things are looking good...?

Hi Polonus,
thanks for the good news. Can you instruct me on what to do with the silent runner program, and the following:
HELP! Okay, so I am here:
http://www.castlecops.com/t165203-IceSword_Instructions_in_English_Illustrated.html

I downloaded the 1.20 version because I have XP. I followed steps 1 and 2, fortunately, there are no red entries.

The only red entries are in the SSDT and I don't understand how to go about deleting/stopping them. If I am suppose to find the folders and delete them from there, how do I go about finding the unknowns? I saved the red entries and attached them.
thank you thank you thank you!!!!!

Oh, when would be a good time to defrag?

Before the virus, I used TuneUp Utilities to defrag hard disk and regisrty a few times a month.

If you're clean, at any time...
I suggest iObit (free) http://www.iobit.com/iobitsmartdefrag.html

Hi Tech,

I think I'm clean?

Earlier in the thread, Wyrmrider mentioned "The antivirus 2009 may have reinstalled itself on a reboot between spybot and MBAM
we will need to run a root scan"

I ran a rootscan that Polonus recommended, but I hit a wall, as mentioned a couple of post above, so I don't know if defraging would reinstall traces of the av2009 virus. How do I find out if there are any traces left?

Off to run a hijack.

thanks!

Hi SB
a defrag would not reactivate anything- A RESTORE would
I do not see where a disk cleanup would hurt at this point
with xp everyone uses the same defrag engine - only the user interface changes- use whatever you like

I think you could have run the latest version of ice sword not just 1.20 with xp
any other opinions? Polonus you suggested Ice Sword

SSDT items you just mentioned are Icesword
Incidentally the 1.22 is for XP the 1.20 is for vista

Spybot will update Wednesdays  and reimmunize
