if the trojan is in use its simple. restart the computer in safe mode. that should load only essentian windows components and thus not the trojan. so in theory you SHOULD be able to delete it from safe mode. hope it works post back the results

Thanks, stinger found 4 infected files.  2 were deleted and 2 could not be repair.
For some reason my original virus is still there.

Yes, of course, because Stinger is not made for finding that Virus.
Let Avast clean your PC in safe mode! What Viruses/Worms did Stinger find?

Hi,

where exactly is it found ? (full path/folder/filename)

- if in RESTORE-folder: disable System-RESTORE & reboot

for more info: please feed
JEET
into the board-search above -> at least 10 hits

or look here:
http://www.virusbtn.com/resources/vgrep/vgrep.cgi?terms=jeet&product=1

Spybot might also help, and you should Update your WIN and secure your IE

You should be able to remove/delete/rename it in safe mode or if you "Kill" the msrexe.exe task. Remember that it is a password steeling Trojan/Backdoor.
You may also use the infos in Who´s Link

Ah, I can't delete it.  I guess I have to leave it or something.  When I putted my computer in safe mode and used Avast, it said the file cannot process. So I decided to do it manully by going to C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM and then the file name, msrexe(application) to delete it, it said the file is being in use.   ???

If you want you could use Killbox for that: http://download.broadbandmedic.com/VbStuff/KillBox.zip

haha thanks.  Killbox works but I'm not sure if its safe to get rid of it because I read somewhere on the net that I shouldn't delete it unless I change something or else the other .exe programs will not work or maybe I just misunstood.   I don't know, maybe I should just find someone to come look at my computer.  thanks  :)

Take a look at the registry(by using regedit) and see if the msrex.exe is listed here:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\comfile\shell\open\command
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile\shell\open\command

Standardsetting is: "\"%1\" %*"
