and are you running 2 gb memory with Vista?
I'm thinking heat should throttle the system not kill it
do you hear a fan rev up or anything (if you system has a fan)?
did you try safe mode- I have little vista experience but my brother has an HP latop with AMD turion so I am Interested in your experience.  His scans fine
are you plugged into the wall while doing this?

I have a desktop. It's a Pentium E2160 (C) 1.8 GHz with a 500 GB SATA 3G Hard Drive. Yes, I have 2 gb memory. No, the fan doesn't rev up. No, I didn't try it in safe mode. The last time I tried I had to do a system repair. I could be mixed up, and I could have done a system repair for something else. I wish I could find the thread where I talked about it.
