Double click on the clock/time at the bottom right that will open a window, check that the day month and year are correct, adjust as required.

Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.3.6108 (build 24.3.8975.762) UI 1.0.801/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

I suggest an installation from the scratch:

1. Uninstall avast from Control Panel first.
2. Boot.
3. Download the latest version of Avast Uninstall and use it for complete uninstallation.
4. Boot.
5. Install again the latest avast! version.
6. Boot.
7. Check and post the results.

Hi Tech,
I think you may be right. This problem occured about a year ago, when I reinstalled our Win 98se OS,and I failed to notice the year being entered as ''2030''. I went to the Clock area and inserted that days date, but a number of our folders had already inserted 2030 as the year. All our other files have the right year though. If your above suggestion can correct this, that would be great!
In order to try your above fixes,I'll have to redownload the latest version of Avast, and that's going to take some time,as we're on Dialup, and I believe that download will be around 20 mb!I'll get back soon with results. Thanks for your help.

Hi David R,
As you can see from my reply to Tech,my problem is more involved than adjusting the Clock! Thanks for the help.

Hi Tech,
I'm back,to report that I tried to redownload Avast the other day,and I had to stop after downloading 43 percent, and the next day I tried to Resume the Download with my FDM downloader and got ''File not found on the server'' ! Does this mean that Avast does not permit resuming?I'm on a slow Dialup connection which can't be helped here.Thanks.

As far I know you can resume.
Maybe download the same file name from files.avast.com server instead of the one you're trying to do so.
