Hi,

DON't delete them !!
Read here first:
http://www.virusbtn.com/resources/vgrep/vgrep.cgi?terms=mtx-b&product=1
and follow the instructions of Trend, McAfee or Symantec

if you don't succeed there, try booting into SafeMode (F8-Boot) and REPAIRING the files with avast
wsock32.dll can be restored from avast chest (system files)
& tell us which files remain infected (full path/folder/filenames)

Which Win do you have ?
 ;)

P.S.: here's a Fix-Tool
 :)

I uninstalled Avast so that i could install antivir and give it  a shot.  Apperantly all the infected files in the chest got deleted????  I ran antivir and it couldn't catch anything.  Then i reinstalled Avast and it could not detect a virus anymore.  Computer runs ok as far as i can tell but those files are gone......?

Tough luck..
 ;)

restore them from Backups or reinstall the corresponding programs if you experience problems..
depending on your WIN version, you might also try SFC ...
Windowsupdates migth also be a good idea..

ÄÄhm, why didn't you use the Tool or the instructions ? ???
