Do you have avast Home or Pro?
Haven't you, by any chances crossgraded from Home to Pro or vice versa?

Thanks

Please check the following registry key:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{f414c260-6ac0-11cf-b6d1-00aa00bbbb58}\InprocServer32

Does it contain any references to avast?

Thanks

No mention of avast here.  It only says default C\windows\system\jscipt.dll and then threading model?? I appreciate your help though.

Hmm, interesting... In that case I don't see a way how avast could mess with JavaScript though...

What makes you think that the problem is related to avast anyway? Did it start happening after installing the program? What operating system are you using?

Thanks

Vlk, my 0.02 contribution: I cross changed from PRO to HOME and again to PRO and HOME... No problems at XP SP1+  8)

The problem started after I installed avast but also at this time i found that I had ncasespy which I have now got rid of but have been left with no javascript access and blank emails? Does avast contain a pop up stopper which could be stopping me opening javascripts? My system is windows 98.

Thank you for all your help but I think the problem is solved. I simply disabled avast and then downloaded IE6 again!!
