BART CD--Does It Work?
« on: September 19, 2008, 11:18:52 PM »
Hi all,

We have been evaluating the BART CD for the past week, and it has already helped us recover a couple of PC's that were not even bootable due to virus/spyware infection.  When you do this for a living, a tool like BART is invaluable.

I have used ERD commander in the past to easily edit the Windows registry, but BART has that covered as well.

Very impressed with the product.

BART (IMO) beats the freebie recovery disks hands down as the Linux-based cd's don't always boot, depending on your hardware--although they have improved somewhat.

The only suggestions I can offer are:

*Ability to update the virus DB on the fly when booting the cd, similar to what Bit Defender and F-Secure do with their freebie recovery disks.
*Admin password changer utility similar to ERD commander

Thanks for the great job, guys.

Good suggestions.
Old Symantec Recovery Disk updates the virus definitions on the fly too, choosing a folder in any disk/partition to save them.
