Downloading Skins?
« on: April 16, 2004, 07:27:06 AM »
Hello Everyone!

First let me say THANKS  ;D to the very cool people at Alwil for providing such a terrific program and service. For those of us on fixed budgets, it's super. God bless them.

My ISP is MSN and when I download skins the MSN Download Manager opens and accepts the download, but when I try to open/install an error message window/box opens immediately stating... A sharing violation occured in C:/Documents and Settings/... etc., etc. It will not install; Will not load?

I'm just a beginner user so forgive me if I'm not doing something elementary that I should be doing? Would appreciate any advice regarding the download/install.

Thanks, may you all be safe and prosperous.

Sharing violation?? Strange indeed...

I'd just download the files to any folder - e.g. to your desktop (you can right-click the link and select Save Target As...), and then double click the downloaded files to install them. Of course, this assumes that avast is already installed on that machine, otherwise the second step won't work...

Hope this helps,
Vlk

Thanks for the replies... didn't know that I could bypass the Download Manager. I'll go at it from a different angle.

Be safe and prosperous.  ;D

Even the download manager must handle the file with easy... Which one do you use?  ;)
