Entires in Hosts, IE Ristricted Sites, FF blocked cookies
« on: October 18, 2008, 05:14:51 PM »
Is there ana advantage to putting entries like *007guard.com and www.007guard.com in places like this?  Also, is it possible to copy the blocked images and cookies website list from a Windows Firefox to an Ubuntu Firefox?

The HOSTS file does not support wildcards.

HOSTS files I use:
http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm
http://hosts-file.net/?s=Download

Managed with HostsMan and I use its HostsServer proxy to speed up browsing:

Oh yeah, oops.  But for IE ristricted sites and FF blocked cookies, is there a point in having two almost identical entries?

I don't use Firefox so I can't answer that but the HOSTS file works for all browsers.

My Restricted Zones are set by SpywareBlaster and they do not consume system resources so I don't worry about them.
