Outlook 2007 crash on closing
« on: October 23, 2008, 01:14:52 PM »
Hi, I am running Vista Home Premium with SP1.  I have uninstalled Avast using the aswclear.exe and reinstalled.  I am running CA Antivirus but disabled it whilst reinstalling Avast free version 4.8.1229.  I am using Outlook 2007 and when i close out look the following error occurs:
Problem signature:
  Problem Event Name:   APPCRASH
  Application Name:   OUTLOOK.EXE
  Application Version:   12.0.6316.5000
  Application Timestamp:   4833a470
  Fault Module Name:   ashOutXt.dll_unloaded
  Fault Module Version:   0.0.0.0
  Fault Module Timestamp:   4881fc54
  Exception Code:   c0000005
  Exception Offset:   6558a5ae
  OS Version:   6.0.6001.2.1.0.768.3
  Locale ID:   3081

Additional information about the problem:
  LCID:   1033
  Brand:   Office12Crash
  skulcid:   1033
The issue after reading these forum is that the addin for Outlook 2007 is not installed.  Going to the trust centre it is listed nor has it been disabled it just simply is not there.  I have tried deleting the extend.dat file, done the repair but has not solved the problem.  I have also done a search for the ashouxt.dll file and it is not there which could explain why there is no avast addin in Outlook. Has anyone else had this problem and has anyone got a fix.
Cheers

Sorry, disable is not enough... avast and any other antivirus do not like drivers loaded, services in background... low level access control... I suggest you choose one or another, otherwise, sooner or later, conflicts.
