"out of date"
« on: October 27, 2008, 12:29:01 AM »
I just recently renewed because my license had expired so I reregistered got the new number and updated the program.  Ever since then my virus protection says it's "out of date".  I've updated Avast and tried restarting but it still says the same thing and I have that red shield with the (x) on it on my address bar.  Any suggestions.

Is your system time and date correct?

Once you corrected the date avast and the windows security center should recognise that, but a reboot won't hurt.
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.4.6112 (build 24.4.9067.762) UI 1.0.803/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

It will be good. But you need to repair your avast installation, at least.
Go to Control Panel > Add/Remove programs > avast! antivirus > Remove. Then choose Repair function in the popup window (Repair).
