TO INSTALL OR NOT INSTALL ?

I am using AVIST! Build 4.8.1229.
It occupies 76.22 MB on my H/Drive

I want to uninstall and then re-instal.

However, when I go here :

http://www.download.com/Avast-Home-Edition/3000-2239_4-10019223.html?part=dl-AvastHome&subj=dl&tag=button&cdlPid=10888427

.....to download a fresh version, the new version is only 26.19MB

My Silly Billy question is :-

Why the difference in size between the two ?

My first question would be: Why do want to uninstall and reinstall Avast!?

The answer to your question is that the 26.19Mb file is a 'compressed' file...  Once you move to install the program the file is 'decompressed' as the files are installed thus taking 76.22Mb of disk space... :)

Advanced users will be able to do housekeeping and delete old logs, dump files, skins not used...
But you won't reduce that much that size.
One of the most space eater will be VRDB (info backup to repair executable files if they get infected).
