hi, i just started with avast and when i put my mouse over the "a" spinning ball it says 7 providers, 6 running. it says the outlook exchange provider is waiting for subsystem to start. i don't use outlook i use yahoo. now i think my email isn't being scanned so how can i fix this?? thank-you for your consideration

The outlook/Exchange provider is for MS Outlook (not express) if you don't have MS outlook installed then it shouldn't have started, so it looks like you started that Provider and the sub-system it is waiting for is MS Outlook to start.

So terminate the Outlook/Exchange provider.

Yahoo is a web based email viewed through your browser (unless you have paid to have a POP3 account) and as such it will be monitored by the Web Shield which protects your browser http traffic.

okay, i terminated the outlook as you said and am letting it go at that i guess. thank-you for your reply and also the added info that the mail is still covered. thanx again
