Edit times between VRDB
« on: April 19, 2004, 05:28:06 PM »
Can anyone tell me which line I need to alter in the Avast4.ini file to let the VRDB run everyday or to every other day. I opened the file, but not sure which line it is.
Sweet program.

Hi and welcome, mopar,

See Technical's excellent explanation of the ini generally, including this question, here, the VRDB is covered in post # 4.

You'll have to add the RunInterval as a new line in the VRDB section, it's one or many settings for which avast uses its default value if there's not a specific reference to it in the ini.

It's your choice, of course -- but every day or two is probably way too often to be doing fresh VRDB's - ??

Best,
Mike

yea one of the guys said more than that can cause problems in the database and so less likely to be able to repair infected files.

Thanks for the info guys. I looked, but apparently I didn't look hard enough for what I needed.
