Sound Problems
« on: April 20, 2004, 03:06:52 AM »
My on board sound seems to have stopped working, I unplugged my speakers to plug in another one, and now it doesn't work at all.
I bought another sound card and ran the driver disk, but, the only way I can have sound now is to remove the driver from the devise manager so it will detect the sound card on start up, I have to do this every time I shut down, otherwise I have no sound.
When I disable the on board sound in the devise manage, my computer will only start up in safe mode.
Thanks for your help.

Sometimes, sound cards incompatibility were solved by BIOS.
When you start your computer (probably click DEL or F2 to access the BIOS) you can choose the on-board device to be detected. For me it works in an old computer. Good luck  8)

Hi, thanks for help, but I found  that although the Devise Manager said the on board sound was working, it wasn't. I removed all the sound drivers, and on start up it only detected the PCI card, so problem solved.
Thanks again,
