What is MSXML 5.0 from Microsoft?

Some websites that I access from IE7 ask me install this? Is it safe to do? Please see attached 1.jpg for details.

Yes, but it will cover everything, not just the notification for MSXML 5.0...

Personally I would leave it alone it is a security measure that could keep you out of trouble and stop auto download/running of something that could seriously impact your system security.

As ardvark shows in the link above this Golden bar is also used when pop-us are blocked, so it provides a dual purpose, security (adding an additional step in security) or convenience deleting pesky pop-up windows/ads, etc.

So I would just choose to ignore the bar rather than actually disable it.
