Hi,

Try a full system scan with archives enabled just to be sure,
If negative you could scedule a boot-time scan too. (most certainly unnecessarily, but I would have).

Better safe than sorry!

What is the infected file name, where was it found e.g. (C:\windows\system32\infected-file-name.xxx) ?
Check the avast! Log Viewer (right click the avast 'a' icon), Warning section, this contains information on all avast detections. C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashLogV.exe

- Ensure that you have hidden files and folders enabled and disable hide system files in Windows Explorer, Tools, Folder Options, Hidden files and folders, see image. This is for my XP Pro system, I don't know if the settings are the same or in the same locations.
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.3.6108 (build 24.3.8975.762) UI 1.0.801/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

DavidR,

I ask just to learn more:
Why do we need that info if the infection gets cleaned?

Because the file name and location provides useful information.

When trying to work out:
a) why the move to the avast chest failed as SkaterNater reported.
b) why the user can't find the file in explorer.
c) we don't know if the file has been cleaned as the move to the chest failed.
