License issue, I think
« on: November 18, 2008, 11:00:39 PM »
SBS Edition standard, on a single Windows SBS 2003 server with 4 XP Pro workstations...

When I start Avast and click Registration it shows...

Product: avast! SBS Edition - Standard, Type: Release, Count: 5
Product: avast! Network Client, Type: Release, Count:1

In the ADNM Console, under "Computers with Agent" there are listed four workstations, three of which show the green icon and one that shows a key icon.

I found this only because I was viewing the Antivirus event viewer in Computer Management for the computer with the key icon and saw lots of errors (actually the same two errors many times). They are CClient::PopupThread - GetConnection failed [0x2] and POP from server failed [0x7FFF0021, res timestamp: 0].

How do I rectify this?

Check with your provider, some weeks ago, I read a similar message, it was a problem with the license key file generation.

Best Regards

Check with my provider? I bought it off the Avast web site. And emails to sales@avast.com go unanswered.

Well, unfortunately, the problem is that you bought

avast SBS Edition

while you really wanted to buy

avast SBS Suite

The thing is, the SBS Edition (that you bought) doesn't really provide protection for the clients (as the product page clearly says).

I'm afraid you'll have to wait for a response from the sales team.

Thanks

That's odd, because I'm using ADNM with the product I bought. I've been able to create installation files with it and install them on workstations and those workstations are running Avast and have even caught viruses. And the status of the clients are showing up in ADNM on the server.

What am I missing?
