I have avast 4.8-1229.i lost you a while back :'(but dowloaded you again next day.I was having problems and restored factory settings.so had to re connect to internet etc.i have only been using computers for 5 months and accidents happen and we learn from are mistakes. .anyway since i got you back i no longer hear a voice on updates or for warnings.is this a problem or have you decided not to include the voice.i would like to add you have saved my neck 5 times in the past and know you have good stuff that works.

The voice is still there. Do you hear system sounds?

There is an option to disable the voice in avast! settings, but it should be enabled by default. Have a look in there just in case.

thanks a lot.i looked in the settings and it was set to the windows chime.i have re set it to the voice option and think its sorted. .thanks for te fast reply.

You could jump the queue and do a manual program update, the latest version is 4.8.1290 and you would normally get a notification sometime in the 7 day update cycle.
