Downloaded wrong product
« on: February 09, 2009, 03:01:35 PM »
My sister in law had problems updating her computer virus program (symantec) so I convinced her to uninstall symantec and download avast as the home version is free and works flawlessly for me.  Unfortunately she downloaded a version which is $50 for three years.  She is bringing her computer to me today to repair and my question is can I uninstall this fee version and download the free home version which is what I recommended to her.  How does she get a refund?

You don't have to uninstall anything - when you insert "Pro" serial key into avast! Home program, it gets upgraded. and vice versa - when you enter "Home" serial into avast! Professional, it gets downgraded.

Regarding a refund, she might want to contact her credit card company?

So there is no way to get a refund other than a dispute with the credit card company?

Honestly, I don't know... try to contact sales@avast.com, but I believe canceling the credit-card payment would be the easiest way.
