Hi

I used avast! home edition on my laptop. My query is that is there any need to install additional anti-spyware software like ad-aware or spydoctor ? or the avast! home edition is enough for anti-spyware software ?

Please suggest ...

Thanks

I prefer to have a dedicated antispyware program, I'm using SUPERAntiSpyware Pro (paid version), but there is also an free version. I've paid as I wanted to have SAS Realtime protection, the free version don't have this feature.

I've also have Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware installed (also freeware)

http://www.superantispyware.com/
http://www.malwarebytes.org/

Those are recommend by many sites.

Thanks for quick reply.

But i don't want any paid anti-spyware software. Could you please tell me some best freeware anti-spyware softwares. Also is the inbuilt anti-spware with avast! home is not enough ?

Didn't you read my message? ;) Both SAS and MBAM is freeware, but IF you want realtime protection you have to pay. But you can use both as freeware if you want.

If you want an Antispyware program with realtime protection you can use Spyware Terminator - http://www.spywareterminator.com/

Antispyware in avast is ok, check the frontpage of www.avast.com about an test:

avast! antivirus rated "++" by AV-Test

The independent testing body AV-Test has released the results of a major comparative test of antivirus products, covering detection rates for various types of malware. In the tests, avast! antivirus detected over 99% of all malware types (and more than 98% of adware and spyware)

See the page for an link to the testresults.

But for me, I also want an dedicated antispyware program. But that's me...other may disagree.
