Iam using the home edition.
How can i check that the automatic update really works.

Patrick, the updates were usually on Tuesdays and Fridays... But anytime, when needed, you'll have a virus database update. Can you wait more few days?
The program updates are usually three or four an year, could be more frequent if necessary.
You can set to see the update at 'normal' view and when it's finished you will see a window telling that to you. You can see an icon on system tray too. A blue panel could arrise from the bottom left side of the screen.
