You shouldn't have to change the date and time in avast it gets it from the system time. I would suggest a reboot and then try a manual update.

You say it won't update, can you be a little more detailed, e.g. what errors are displayed, etc. ?
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.3.6108 (build 24.3.8975.762) UI 1.0.801/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

When you changed your computer's date, did you advance the date and if so, by how many days/months?

I suspect this to be a hardware error rather than an Avast problem.
You need to renew the cmos battery on your motherboard.

you could try to delete and reinstall avast and enter a new license key - (system time has to be correct when you enter the licence key)
probably just inserting a new license key could also solve the problem...
