bankvip, for the server edition, which I think is one of the paid versions, there is a support site at http://support.avast.com/ where you can ask your questions directly to the avast! team.  This forum is mostly volunteers who just try to help other users with their questions.  Good luck; Ed.

Even if the virus is divided into segments for the download, shouldn't the webshield scan it on assembly, but before you try to open it? 
No, it does not work due to the way of download managers manage the fragments.

Or does it default to Standard Shield when the DM stores it/creates a new file?
Yes, Standard Shield will do it (if it is in the default settings).
