Hello, since installing avast home 4 version 4.8 i cannot send or receive emails using microsoft outlook.
I get the following error: -ERR concurrent connections limit in avast exceeded (pass:0,processes:CCSVCHST.EXE[20])'
If I terminate the email scanning in avast i can send and receive my mail.
Any help would be appreciated

Hi marysherkin!
do or did you use any other security software (antivirus, firewall,...)?
which is your OS?
which version of microsoft outlook? (office 2007, 2003,...)

Yes marysherkin did as that shows Symantec/Norton installed or remnants still active the culprit is CCSVCHST.EXE[20]
Norton can be harder to remove than a virus.
A link worth looking at, which is a program removal tool that can remove the remnants of a number of different Norton Programs:
