A squared free

The other day I came accross a scanner called A squared free by EMSI software,its a on demand scanner.It is supposed to track bots,worms,trojans etc.I have downloaded it and it seems o.k.I just wondered if any of you had heard of it and had any opinions on it.I also have Super Malware Bytes as a on demand scanner and know by reputation thats good.But becaus this A squred free is supposed to track bots I thought I would try it. :-\ :) ;).

It's a good scanner. Sometimes aggressive (false positives). I've dropped using it when it messed up all my Windows Registry and could not restore it back (although it was promised by the application itself). Since then, I use SuperAntispyware, SpywareTerminator and MBAM for on-demand scanning.

There are others which I feel are better as Tech mentioned and we normally only mention a-squared if you can't for some reason use the others (like an old win9x winME OS, etc.).

I think you all are fairly well up and Knowledeable and probably better at spelling than me.Anyways A Squared has now departed from my laptop.I installed the spyware you recommended and it found the remains of a trojan,a trojan called agent.qwt.and also a invalid startup entry.I also fired p.c.tools spyware doctor as I have learned the free version does not get proper updates unlike avast.Thanks a lot Tech and David R.

I used A-Squared for about a year (recently) but it never detected any "real" threats that SAS or MBAM didn't. Lesson: Stick with SAS and MBAM. Better support if needed, too.

Getting rid of that p.c.tools spydoctor was a p.i.g.I had some tea and when I logged on I could not get on line. ???.I had to reinstall it and then use a programme I have for removing stubborn programmes.I once praised p.c.tools spyware doctor but now I would not recommend it.Anyway alls fine now,with a little help from you lads. ;D.
