Temporary shut down

I don't know if I'm at the right place, but I can't find anywhere to turn off Avast. When burning a CD, I'm informed to turn off any virus protection. Thanks!

If you want to turn off avast, right click on the blue ball with a avast a on it.A window will pop up and click on stop provider. That will turn it off.To turn it on again right click on the a ball and click on resume provider. But I could not say if you need to turn off avast to burn a c.d.Have you tried burning a c.d.with avast running.I mean I would feel a bit vulnerable burning off a c.d.on the net without protection.

You don't need to turn off avast to burn a CD/DVD. I'm burning a lot of discs, and avast is always running here without problems.

Second vote for leave your AV enabled, I have never disabled my AV to burn a CD and I can't see a valid reason to do so. I would be asking what this burning software is and why it would need to do that, I mean what has it to hide or what is it doing that an AV might object to ???

There is no need to disable the antivirus for anything in the computer...

I also never turn off any part of avast when burning a cd ... unwise and unsafe to my way of thinking.

I've also never turned of my computers protection to burn either a CD or a DVD.
Maybe it's time to look for a different burning software. ???
