ash seems to be Alwil Software...
What is the 'h'?
What is the 'disp'?

I believe there was once a distinction between asw (Alwil SoftWare) and ash used in different avast versions so they could be identified.

The Disp is I believe nothing more than an abbreviation of Display.

I think trying to shorten a file name to the 8.3 format can make it difficult, especially if you have the first three characters the same.

There still is - 'h' is used in "Home/Pro" and 'w' in Server versions - at least for modules that are not identical in all editions ;)
